Story
Rose de France remains a term in reference to a pastel, lilac toned amethyst gemstone.
In this ring, a large example comes in at about 16 x 12mm or 7 3/4 carats of lavender and pale violet shades of purple. Bezel set, it reigns over an equally impressive 14k gold filigree setting.
Mostly in white gold with yellow gold flowers and leaves there is also a linked wrap of more gold on the edge. Open work patterns are lacy and allow light to enter the underside.
Dating to circa 1930s and the Art Deco period, it is American in make and style.
