Story
Some things are indeed a once in a lifetime...and this is surely one of them.
During our 18 plus year history this is a first. Pure Victorian in sensibility and design, the 19th century obsession with the natural world served as the wellspring of design for this breathtaking bracelet.
A glittering butterfly adorns the center section and it is studded with rose cut diamonds on the wings. The body is made up of an Australian opal, and its head is a natural red ruby with two diamond eyes and curling gold antennae.
The insect rests above a concave gold circular niche. Surrounding this is a series of gold braided and twisted wire. It is then encircled with juicy tubes of curved gold with beaded ends and details along with bands of more gold.
The bangle is hinged, and with a hidden catch that blends so perfectly with the wire work that it seems to have been designed by a magician. (Part of the wire work itself forms the button that is depressed to release the clasp).
The juxtaposition of the ethereal butterfly with the powerful and bold gold work (as well as the meticulous craftsmanship) place this at an 11 on a scale of 1 to 10.
Comes in an antique refitted box with cream silk and navy blue velvet interior, the bangle rests on a spring loaded platform.
