Note: C.D. Peacock of Chicago, Illinois began their history in 1837. It was family-owned until 1970, a remarkable feat for any jeweler firm. The Peacock name has long stood for remarkable quality. It is interesting to learn that their vaults and contents survived the great Chicago Fire of 1871 with almost nothing else left standing in downtown Chicago.
