Scarce and very fine, this 10k yellow gold Georgian heart has an 18k yellow gold bloomed finish. It features delicate applied wire work and cannetille to the front and also to the original natural pearl set bale.
Opening from the bottom, the interior reveals a locket compartment with glass cover. On the reverse the dimpled and patterned gold is still fine as original.
Given as a token of affection or friendship, today this genre of jewelry is quite uncommon when original. An array of sayings, names or affectations were applied ranging from “adore” to “darling”.
