Story

In the symbolic and lyrical style of the Art Nouveau period, this round slide locket motif is that of a spray of forget me not flowers.

The locket is marked with two import French weevil poinçons (hallmarks). In typical French fashion, it is a slide which opens by separating horizontally the two haves. Two mirrors rest inside. It originates from Germany and was imported into France for sale.

This was quite a common practice, with many cities specializing in jewelry production for importing into other major European city centers.

Designed in 800 silver, it is lower than sterling, which is 925 or above. Much of the European silver of this era had a similar silver content, yet it still shines up to a beautiful sheen.

Both front and back are raised with the same floral designs. A lovely medium scale, it is easily donned for day wear or evening finery.
