Story
Rose cut diamonds captivate many admirers. Their big chunky facets allow light refraction from every angle .
The eye goes immediately to the oval, double rose cut center diamond of this ring. It is set in the characteristic Georgian manner with a sculptural, rounded closed back. There is foiling beneath the diamond for maximum brilliance. A pie crust, crimped collet or bezel, hugs the perimeter tightly.
Four more naïve rose cut diamonds are set at the cardinal points. Each is placed in a rub over bezel. Gold swirls enliven the cluster. and its open construction remains timeless and feminine.
Rose cut diamonds, due to their flat backs, always have a greater visual impact than their actual weight as they show their beauty in length and width rather than depth. The center is equivalent in a look equal to a .50 carat diamond, and the four accent diamonds total .12 carats in look.
In 10k yellow gold, the cluster dates to circa 1820, and the under gallery and shank are modern.
