Story

Basse-taille (sometimes referred to as “jeweler’s enamel”) is a technique of enameling in which a pattern is engraved in low relief or beaten upward in repoussé, and then filled with translucent or opaque enamel, often black.

Dangling and geometric, these American Victorian earrings are constructed in four parts and a shepherd's hook ear wire with safety clasp. The surmount is a convex and curved rectangular shape.

Beneath are suspended both an open frame and a geodesic gold orb. The entire earring was created in 10k pale rose gold.

From the open frame, a tapered hoop is suspended. The top and bottom are both ornamented with black opaque enamel in fine tracery designs against a textured backdrop. Medium in length, they match whatever the mood.
