Story
Herbert Rosenthal's fame in the jewelry world sprung from the creation of insect and animal motifs, particularly bee brooches.
Always of fine quality, usually in 18k gold like this one, the workmanship, diamonds and gems that were chosen were well above the norm. His insects were a must-have during the 1960s and 70s and his bee design was even granted a copyright.
Charming in size, this bee has ruby eyes with a diamond studded body. Nineteen brilliant cut diamonds possess fire and radiance that belies the bee’s relatively modest size. Adding up to 1.10 carats in total, they have a color of G-H, and a clarity of VS (with one at J-K color).
Yellow gold of 18k serves as the head, wings and legs. White gold makes a perfect backdrop for the diamond body. Skipping all the bee and buzz puns (although it’s tempting) let’s just say this little darling will become a favorite whether displayed on a blouse or dangling from a chain, lariat or pearls.
With 14k gold rope chain of 16 inches.
