When antique jewelry is in mint condition, it emanates with a certain radiance. This is a glorious Edwardian brooch of almandine garnets set into 10k rose gold.
Almandine garnets are suffused with a raspberry pink to plum purple range of coloration, unlike their often better known claret or cinnamon hued cousins.
The starburst or flower design is composed of 9 round faceted garnets that weigh in at a grand total of 9.45 carats.
Refracting mulberry and fuschia – every angle reveals more facets presence. It is no wonder that almandine garnets were adored by jewelers and their clients in the late 19th and early 20th century and still are today.
A fold up or down bale with a brooch fitting makes for versatile wear.
