This chic, ultra-wide sterling silver cuff bracelet shows a keen sense of the natural world along with a nod to Japanese aesthetic.

All hand engraved with appliques, the design is arranged in two horizontal bands. The top array of silver raised hearts encases alternating rose and yellow gold over silver flowers. Within each heart are hand engraved leaves.

The bottom section uses thistle flowers with both relief and engraving with two rose gold blooms as well. The stems arch across the top front of the bangle in harmony and contrast to the band of hearts above. It almost appears as if they are blowing in the biting, North Sea winds.

The thistle became a leitmotif of the Victorian era, acknowledging Queen Victoria and Prince Albert's love of the Scottish highlands with their purchase of Balmoral Castle in 1852.

Queen Victoria was enamored with Scotland and as she was naturally a major trendsetter of her day, the thistle, Celtic motifs, Scottish agate and the like can be found in a number of examples of jewelry produced during the mid to later 19th century.

The back of the hinged cuff is smooth and polished and finished with a tongue and groove clasp.
