Story
By the firm of Carter & Gough & Co., maker's of fine jewelry from Newark, the jewelry capital of America at one time, this locket personifies the care that was once lavished on jewelry.
From a hidden hinge that is barely discernible, to a platinum-topped "weave" that makes this almost look like a gold basket, the workmanship rates as superb.
An old European diamond of .20 carats highlights the domed center. With a color of H-I and clarity of SI3-I1, it enhances the locket with aplomb.
In platinum topped 14k rose gold, the front cover holds a checkerboard pattern. The remainder of the pendant is 14k rose gold. The interior still retains its two rims and one glass for a photograph. clicking closed tight with a snick, it retains its original bale.
