A relic of an earlier epoch, this large fossilized shark tooth has been adorned with gold and ready for its next admirer.
Dating to the mid 19th century, the tip and top has been capped in 9k rose gold. Both are hand engraved with patterns and in the top center, the initials E.C. are evident nestled within a heart.
When shark's teeth turn gray or darker colors, it is a sign they have been fossilized as in this impressive specimen. Formerly a brooch, it been converted to a pendant.
It is English in origin and dates to circa 1850.
