Story
What is the difference between an antique old mine cut and a cushion cut? Cushion cuts are rarer than old mine cuts, and are rectangular or square in shape with their corners angled. Old mine diamonds tend to be quite irregular, deep and chunky in shape, but both are brilliant cuts and feature as much shimmer and shine as modern ones.
In these circa 1900 earrings, there is a delightful mix of cushion and old mine cut diamonds from the largest at .42 carats down to .05 carats in weight. With a total of 1.42 carats of these dazzlers.
The setting is platinum topped 14k yellow gold with ear wires of the same. In scale, they blend with most any daytime look yet transition to evening or all our drama depending on the mood.
The diamond color is H-L, SI1-3 clarity for clear inclusions.
