Story
It is the 18th century. Flowers both real and man made adorned the hair, graced the decolletage in posy holders, were stitched and embroidered into fabrics. Everywhere you looked, there they were.
A classic two element form defines this Georgian century brooch of silver gilt. Scrolling gold foliage is dotted with ten deep garnet-colored pastes that have been snugly bezel set. Three variety of flowers with corresponding leaves weave a lyrical dance across the surface.
The beautifully hand-worked gold over silver is richly engraved and organically curvaceous. With an articulated pendant that displays a tear drop dangle it is also set with a pear shaped paste.
The underside reveals the original tube hinge and "C" clasp fittings. Pin it on a ribbon to wear at the neck!
