A veritable piece of sculptural art in the form of a perfume bottle pendant has a dramatic presence. Magnificently crafted of sterling silver and vermeil, the perfume flacon has the shape of a classical urn.
With a configuration in the style of an ancient amphora but rendered with Art Nouveau sensibilities, the sterling silver body has a center oval gently tapering sides and concludes with pointed vermeil apex dart element.
The surface is hand engraved on the front with appliqués of an elegant crested bird, wings outstretched as if alighting on a stylized branch. Leaves and tendrils surround it, and the matte, slightly hammered surface is engraved with more flowers.
The reverse is adorned with a garden of plants and foliate motifs to the left and fancy entwined initials of M M in different letter types.
A removable top is tethered by a chain. More chain in vermeil suspends the bottle from a large "O" finger ring.
