Story
Mikimoto is a name synonymous with fine cultured pearls. Often called the pearl king, Kokichi Mikimoto was the first to successfully create the process that led to the first cultured pearls.
Established in 1893, their cultured saltwater pearls are as sought after today as they were then. In this case, a vintage double strand of individually knotted pearls has a length of 15 and 16 inches.
Each is 6-6.5 mm in diameter and all are lustrous, creamy white and luminous. Their surfaces, shape, and sheen reveal their illustrious origins, all evenly matched and glowing with that diaphanous that only saltwater pearls possess.
A 14k yellow gold clasp is embellished with another pearl of over 4 mm in diameter. Its flower design graces to top of the cushion shaped clasp with the Mikimoto mark evident.
