Humans and opals have a commonality...water. While the body contains over 50% water, opals utilize that same medium although in a lesser percentage, usually below 6%.
Just as most of us our fascinated and calmed by the sea, rivers or lakes, opals maintain their ardent fans. Color flashes often appear mysteriously turning on and off with varying light sources, movement or a flick of the eye.
A round cabochon Australian opal of over 11 mm in diameter and of 3.25 carats is set in platinum. Those elongated tapered baguettes (.40 carats total, G-H color, VS clarity) add a sleek appeal.
