The firm of Binder Brothers of New York has been in existence since the earliest part of the 20th century. Over the preceding decades, many jewelry designers and manufacturers have gone their way, but Binder Brothers remained in business a surprising length of time for a century that saw so much change within the jewelry industry. Some information states they are still producing jewelry today, but no evidence of their firm came forth in our research.
Binder Brothers created this ring in 14k yellow gold. Its use of a fancy cut citrine with straight top and bottom and curved or bowed sides makes for a striking gemstone.
At 6.5 carats, the hues of the citrine range through the amber earth tones with highlights of sunset burnt oranges and flickering flame tips. It is beautifully faceted creating a gemstone that give off big chunks of radiance.
The setting is minimalist placing all the focus on the gemstone. A touch of reeded detail to each shoulder and a tapered shank create a wearable treasure for everyday.
