Sloan & Co., an American jewelry manufacturing house presented a series of astrologically marked items to the populace of the early years of the twentieth century.

Perfect for a birthday gift, this 14k yellow gold double box photo locket is beautifully appointed with a high relief frieze of the Zodiac sign for Aries, traditionally encompassing the dates of March 21 through April 19. The image of the head of a ram and a symbol of its curving horns represent this sign.

At the bottom is a bunch of hops, the foliate associated with Aries, grows with abandon and wends its tendrils up and around the perimeter of the design. Just like the personality traits associated with this sign.
