Story
Lockets were a mainstay during the Victorian era. Worn close to the heart, the pendant typically contained a photo, sprig of hair or even a tiny piece of ephemera. The contents were only known to the wearer and to those who were chosen.
This particular locket pendant of 10k yellow gold takes on the guise of a small book. Beautifully hand engraved and dated, the front flap opens to reveal a compartment with a removable clear insert with an oval shape.
A favorite of many, the locket is engraved in tiny script with the date presented of Dec 20, 1863 and the name Florence. No one will ever be privy to the secrets that this antique piece has and will hold.
