Crafted around 1920, the front of the piece displays images in high relief of lobster-like claws and a jointed tail. Eight legs place the scorpion in the category of arachnid – spiders versus insects. The creature is surrounded by a garland of ornate forms and flora associated with the sign.

The letter M with a stinger at the right hand end is the designated symbol for this sign. Under the main image OCT, the birth month of Scorpio, stands out. Impressive with its complexity and symbolism, the pendant is a real collectible.
