SPECIAL MARKDOWN!
When viewing a truly fine white moonstone, it immediately becomes apparent how the name was derived. The gem simply glows with an inner light.
The moonstone featured in this ring rates as one of the finest gems we have offered in some time. The clear glowing interior light is visible when worn on the finger or off.
Vintage in date, this ring of 14k yellow gold uses a Georgian style setting with the diamonds placed in silver. Rising up like a dome of alabaster light, an oval cabochon moonstone of 4.9 carats immediately catches the eye. The 13 by 10 mm stone is embraced by a bezel of 14k yellow gold.
A breathtaking surround is prominent with twelve rose cut diamonds of .06 carats (J-K color; SI1-3 clarity) set in crimped silver collets akin to those used in the eighteenth and nineteenth century. A pair of gold orbs with a vertical orientation flank each of the twelve diamonds providing contrast in color and texture.
The scalloped gallery takes on the function of the crust of a pie, supporting the matrix. Split shoulders are each appointed with three graduated gold orbs which then segue into a tapering reeded shank.
