Powerful and bold, this signed Larter & Sons 14k yellow gold ring speaks volumes about exquisite design for men (or women) during the Art Deco period.
Originating from the 1865 firm of Larter, Elcox & Co., Larter & Sons was formed in 1905 with its factory based in Newark - the city of glitter and gold - with offices on New York City's Maiden Lane.
Most definitely a designer piece from the center of American jewelry manufacturing, exquisite craftsmanship and elegance of design reigns supreme with the use of a 5-carat cushion cut buff top faceted citrine. Around the gem a gold bezel, appointed with a Greek key pattern hugs the curvaceous lines of the stone.
Substantial shoulders bear the weight of a strong geometrical pattern complementary to the overall composition of the ring. To the interior and hand engraved in script are the initials "S. C." as well as the Larter mark.
