Story
Insect themed jewelry was all the rage during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. This premier 14k rose gold example utilizes the delicate and ornate markings of a butterfly.
Double wings of four oval faceted rhodolite garnets, total of .80 carats carry the lighter than air insect through long distance travels. A body of diamonds, two brilliant cuts of .03 carats each and four rose cuts, total of .04 carats keep the wings going.
An additional two rose cuts, total of .02 carats provide unique markings for our vintage butterfly ring. Tapering sides embellished with a subtle design lend balance to the slender shank. Engraved to the interior the monogram MEK and the date 1918.
In all, eight diamonds weigh in at .12 carats with I-J color and SI1-3 clarity.
