Oh glamour and luxury is revealed with this platinum-topped 14k yellow gold ring. Hugging the finger with an east west perspective, twenty-five old European cut diamonds, total weight of 2.53 carats (H-I color; VS2-SI1 clarity) form a virtual cornucopia of prismatic flash.
With an elongated oval matrix, the ring showcases three diamonds, a .35 carat diamond flanked on each side by one of .15 carats. Each diamond appears to be floating within an open work cartouche accented with mille graining.
A border of eighteen old European diamonds, each .10 carats follows the delicate concave curve of the top with a sparkling surround. A shank of 14k yellow gold completes the show piece.
Dating to the 1920's, it appears to the eye as a field of prismatic white shimmer. Delicate openings add refinement; slight height variations blend together for visual interest.
