Story
Victorian charm and sensibility reign in this 14k yellow gold ring. Bohemian or pyrope garnets were immensely popular in the nineteenth century. Similar patterns, such as floral shapes, clusters, stars and teardrops were employed.
Here the Bohemian garnet is realized in a raised flower cluster form. A large faceted domed garnet accented with a hand wrought yellow gold pinched collet rises above the matrix.
The bottom tier, composed of twenty-five (25) Bohemian pyrope garnets closely set together, capitalizes on the deep inner glow of the fiery red gems to create depth.
Ornate shoulders employ a series of stylized classical elements stair-stepped one upon the other as they segue into a reeded golden shank. In all, twenty-six garnets, total weight of 1.25 carats add their warmth to this antique ring.
