Story
Founded in 1876 in Oslo, Norway, David-Andersen is a design and jewelry firm continuously run by family for four generations.
Equally fab or a man or woman, it is inspired and based on the design of a ring dating to 300 CE. Around the mid twentieth century a cache of Viking age jewelry was unearthed from burial mounds in Scandinavia.
The house of David-Andersen was so impressed by the quality of the discovered hoard that an entire collection of jewelry pieces to be known as the Saga series was launched. No longer in production, almost all of the items were crafted in silver.
Scarce in 14k yellow gold, this ring represents a true re-creation of the design of an ancient Viking ring. Quite bold, the piece displays the use of repeating oblique marks which follow the borders of the ring.
A trio of raised horizontal lines akin to a dumbbell design sport a smooth surface as they sweep across the front alternating with the oblique strikes. Trumpet shaped shoulders show a grouping of raised dots bifurcated by a band of repeating oblique strikes.
