The iconic “man in the moon” takes on an impish look carved into the surface of an oval blue moonstone. With a whimsical smile, closed eyes and a puffed chin, this beloved motif come to life.
The gem is prong set within a yellow gold mounting accented with four (4) rose cut diamonds, each .01 carats, total .04 carats (K-L color; SI2-3 clarity) in a surround which alternates with ornate rectangular elements.
Detailed shoulders are crafted in the style of the Grand Period of the Victorian era and segue smoothly into a gold shank with an antique patina only time and love can bring.
Faint traces of hand engraving in script in interior of a name, “H?m?” and the numbers “86” for the year 1886.
