SPECIAL MARKDOWNS!
This version of an ancient engagement or wedding ring comes from a combination of the fede and gimmel betrothal ring.
The gimmel ring is of fourteenth century origin and featured two interlocking hoops on a central pivot to form one ring.
The fede ring comes from a fifteenth century Italian tradition of the one shoulder featuring a male hand and the other female clasped together or holding a heart between them.
The piece pictured here is a melding of the two traditions with a trio of 18k yellow gold rings displaying a large hand with cuff clasping a small hand, Upon opening the hoops a small heart on the third hoop is revealed.
