Three-part designs were ubiquitous throughout much of the Georgian period, whether utilized in the 18th century or into the early 1800s. Topaz is the focus for this pendant; both pink and golden hues enliven this ornament.
Top and bottom drops of golden topaz are faceted and set within 15k yellow gold. At the center an oval faceted pink topaz rests horizontally. Beside, dots of natural Persian turquoise half cabochons are arranged in two arcs. At the lowest tip, another turquoise punctuates and lends harmony.
Granulation is used around the perimeters of the radiant yellow gold. It is those tiny beads of gold that you see dotted along, imparting a frilled look to the whole. Most likely English in origin, this was certainly part of a larger suite of jewelry.
