Story
Art Deco aesthetics very much incorporated exotic motifs from Egypt, Mesoamerican, East Asia and Africa as well as Greco-Roman designs. Similar to an Aztec form, this geometrical ring featured clearly shows the impact that pyramid architecture and culture had on the design of jewelry from that era we now know as Art Deco.
White gold of 14k forms a perfect truncated pyramid shape to display an old mine cut diamond of .17 carats (H-I color; VS2-SI1 clarity) at the top. The sparkling diamond is set right into a square bezel with incised borders.
The sides of the “pyramid” are pierced with vertical linear opening and decorated with an image of an arch or that of a stylized rising sun. On each side of the slender feminine shank is an engraved cartouche appointed with a floral patterns.
