Story
All the earmarks of an exquisite antique French bracelet are rolled into this one. First, the motifs — used around 1900, the notable jewelry design of a reeded border along with those telling tiny crisscrossed ribbons.
Originating circa 1790, these elements remained in vogue until around 1810. And, as with a small number of designs before, this neoclassical form was revived around 1900.
So very French is the 18k matte yellow gold. Guilloche enamel is another favorite with the fine engraved lines of the underlying gold just peeking through the translucent delicate azure blue surface. Even the marquise shapes reflect the country which coined that very word.
The bracelet is composed of ten ovoid links centered with a delightfully elongated element of four points sparkling with tiny diamonds. In all, twelve (12) diamonds with a total of .18 carats (H-J color; VS2-SI1 clarity) are surrounded by petite bezels of platinum.
A hidden tongue and groove clasp finishes the small master work.
