Story
During the later decades of the 19th century garnets and pearls were still among the favored stones and were used generously. Jewelry design was undergoing a change becoming more feminine, smaller in size and lighter in weight.
Here a 10k rose gold ring displays the colorful use of two square cut pyrope garnets of .25 carats each (total of .50 carats) set north and south with a pair of 2 mm natural freshwater seed pearls placed east and west. The vertical orientation provides a more delicate look balancing the proportions of the piece more harmoniously. Ornate shoulders embody a stylized version of a Greco-Roman column with nicely accented details along the sides.
