Story
Point of information: Were you aware that simply by knowing the history of diamond cutting you can have an indication of the age of an item of diamond jewelry?
While there are a number of additional factors which enter into this equation, that knowledge continues to be of use to this day. Diamonds in this 10k yellow gold ring are a cross between the old mine cut diamond (perimeter not perfectly round) and an old European cut diamond which has been cut and polished with a round shape.
An old mine cut mink colored diamond of .15 carats is set diagonally across from an old mine cut of .15 carats with an I-J color and SI1-2 clarity. Next to the old mine cuts are two (2) rose cut diamonds of .01 carats each also set across at an angle.
All four diamonds with a grand total of .32 carats are in crown settings which place the stones high above the mount. Decorated knob like shoulders add just that right hint of visual interest to a late Victorian ring.
