Story
Several styles and movements associated with jewelry were actively in fashion during the years of the late 19th to those of the early 20th century. Art Nouveau, Arts and Crafts and Edwardian influences were concurrent. Characteristics of each period often overlapped or were accommodated into the design to be in vogue.
This particular pendant, beside from being exquisite in it design and construction incorporates style elements from Edwardian and Art Nouveau influences. The overall motif is straight out of nature’s workshop. It features a delicate leaf motif in 14k yellow gold with impeccable attention to realistic detail. With a soft feathery appearance akin to angel wings, the leaves envelope an elongated natural freshwater pearl 30 mm by 8 mm by 4 mm.
Asymmetrically located, an old mine cut diamond of .20 carats (I-J color; VS2-SI1 clarity) adds a kiss of glitter to the luminous matte finish of the pearl. A three part scalloped bale completes the ethereal pendant which is accompanied by a modern 14k yellow gold chain.
