Story

Equine themed jewelry has been with us for centuries. With the advent of industrialization and consequent development of the leisure class, jewelry began to reflect the “fun” activities in which people participated. Horse and horse racing pieces were perhaps the first to emerge.

Here we have a most handsome pair of 18k yellow gold cufflinks. Referred to as double sided, one of the oval links features a head and shoulders portrait of a horse painted in black enamel; the other link is illustrated with a brown enamel horse head. Detailed with realistically rendered tack, please note that each of the portraits are different. The medallions are linked together with a flat metal bridge of 18k yellow gold.

The cuff links are accompanied with the original cream tooled leather box with the silk and velvet cream interior embossed with "Dobson & Sons, 110, New Bond St. W, Estab over a Century in Piccadilly. Interesting to note that Bond Street is still a hub of jewelry and antique jewelry.
