Story

Discovered in California in 1902, Kunzite was named after the renowned gemologist and author George F. Kunz. A new form of spodumene, the stone is unusual and somewhat rare with Kunz was the first individual to study and evaluate the gem.

Magnificently large at an estimated 118 carats, this luscious medium rose pink modified cushion cut Kunzite has four tiers of facets stacked down the perimeters with seven layers of facets underneath each side for unparalleled refraction and reflection of light. Combine that with outsanding clarity and we have a gemstone which can rival the finest. At the apex the pendant is crowned with a tiara of three (3) marquise and five (5) round brilliant diamonds.

Set in a sleek mounting of 14k white gold, the sides are embellished with six (6) round brilliant cuts (3 on each side) as two (2) more round brilliant diamonds light up the bottom of the under gallery. In all, sixteen (16) sparkling diamonds with a total estimated diamond weight of 2.51 carats (H-I color; SI1-3 clarity for clear inclusions only) enhance the superb Kunzite pendant with radiance and sophistication.

Date: Circa 1980.
