Platinum is the perfect pairing for an enthralling pendant necklace of aquamarine and diamonds. Linear with balanced proportions, at the top the pendant consists of a bifurcated form in the shape of the spread wings of a bird. Set with an old European cut diamond, the element segues into a series of three (3) old European cut diamonds with platinum collets (bezels) which continue into an open work platinum drop featuring a cushion cut natural medium blue aquamarine of an estimated 4.8 carats and superb clarity.
Two additional old European cuts ornament the tear shaped drop bringing the total estimated diamond weight for the six (6) diamonds to .30 carats. Icy white at H-I color, VS2-SI1 clarity, they add exuberance to the whole. A platinum chain comprised of short and more elongated links, similar to a figaro chain completes the feminine necklace.
Date: Circa 1930.
