Story

The ancients believed that the ruby contained the very essence of life. The name itself is derived from the Latin word “ruber” which translates as “red”. Some contend that this is the scarcest gemstone of all, even outflanking the diamond. Sharing the corundum family with sapphires, rubies range in shades pink to “pigeon’s blood red”. Imbued with magic in centuries past, the bewitchment and allure of this glowing and powerful gem shines through to this day.

A crossover ring like no other…a gorgeous oval faceted natural ruby of 2.27 carats crosses paths with a sparkling 1.64 carat oval brilliant diamond of G color and VS1 clarity. Along each side a series of six (6) graduated baguette diamonds (12 in all with an estimated total weight of .76 carats, G-H in color and VS clarity) wraps the platinum mounting in glitter and flash.

The ring is accompanied by a GIA certificate for the main diamond, report 114295768 specifies that it has been removed for certification.

Date: Circa 1980.
