Story

The buckle and strap motif spans several centuries of jewelry design. It is believed to have originated as a variation of the medieval emblem of The Most Noble Order of the Garter, one of England’s most prestigious honor for chivalry. The design has evolved over almost seven centuries to represent a token of love or friendship symbolizing unity between two individuals. The crest of its popularity was during the late 1900s era with a revival toward the end of the Art Deco period (1920s). Look around and you will still see it today.

Fully marked with English hallmarks, this 18k yellow gold buckle ring is representational. Realistic from its detailed frame, prong (tongue), keeper (anchor), the shank symbolically serves as the strap (belt). Embellishing the ring are two (2) gypsy set old mine cut diamonds with a total estimated weight of .12 carats (I-J color; SI2-3 clarity for clear inclusions only). The band is neither too wide nor too narrow and rests comfortably around the finger feeling buttery and silken as only timeworn gold can be.
