Story

More than 95 carats of natural amethyst has found its way into this classic Victorian rivière (riviere) necklace. Oval faceted amethysts are medium deep purple in color with the stones all clear and vibrant with bright lilac highlights. Graduated in size, the amethysts range from 14 mm by 10 mm to 10 mm by 7 mm. Each is set in its individual 14k yellow gold coronet of prongs with intricate detailing and a base ornamented with open worked honeycombs of radiant gold.

According to George Kunz (the famed gemstone Kunzite is named after him as its discoverer) amethysts were associated with love, hope, truth, and passion for centuries. In conjunction with the Zodiac sign Pisces, it is also aligned with the planet Jupiter. Whatever its personal resonance and meaning for you, it is opulent and divine in its own right.
