Story

Question of the day – did you know that black pearls can be of any number of colors and are not black? In fact colors can vary from bronze, to green or lavender and even blue. The standard term “black pearl” refers to the type of mollusk shell which produces the pearl.

Moreover, most people assume that all black pearls are Tahitian in origin…not so as sources are as diverse as the western and central Pacific Ocean, the Indian Ocean, eastern Pacific Ocean from the regions around Mexico all the way down to Peru. The appellation “black pearl” references the various species of oysters that produce these marvels of the deep.

No mystery of the beauty of this mid century ring with its 8 mm natural saltwater black pearl (guaranteed to be natural) centered within an ethereal mount of platinum. Hues of pink, green and lavender purple virtually float across its lustrous even surface. Complementing “the glow from within”, fourteen (14) single cut diamonds of a total estimated weight of .14 carats embellish the setting.
