Story

Question: How can a 2 carat diamond visually appear as though it were 4 carats? Answer: When the stone is a rose cut diamond. It gives the illusion of being much greater than its actual carat weight as the base of the gem is flat. Most other cuts have a great deal of their weight below the surface. Not the case with a rose cut…this diamond is all show and then some.

This particular rose cut diamond is estimated at 2.35 carats (I-J color; SI1 clarity) yet looks like it is over 4 carats. The gem is foiled and set closed back in a 14k yellow gold mounting. Setting a stone closed back and foiled enhances its brilliance. It is as though a mirror has been placed behind the diamond.

The open work 14k yellow gold setting is further enhanced by an additional twenty-six (26) brilliant cut diamonds with a total estimated weight of .47 carats, reading white and bright at H-I color and SI1 clarity. The honeycomb effect of the under gallery allows light to reach the recesses and facets of all of the sparkling diamonds.

The ring is accompanied with an EGL USA certificate for the center diamond with a replacement value of $23,790 for the center diamond alone!

Date: Modern.
