Story

Nothing says Art Deco like the pairing a sapphires and diamonds. The characteristic contrasting colors are a cardinal aspect of this period of stunning jewelry. Here we have an example that includes that smashing use of geometrics combined with boldness of color and eye catching details.

An old European cut diamond of .53 carats (I color; VS1 clarity) resonates with snowy white hues and is set in a square bezel of 18k white gold. Flanking the centered diamond white gold open work embraces a pair of marquise shaped synthetic sapphires. The use of synthetic gems was typical for this era. Please note the pierced under gallery which escorts a slightly tapering shank embellished all around with patterning.

This ring is accompanied by an EGL certificate for the main diamond.

Date: Circa 1930.
