Story

Antique jewelry has an allure that can seldom be matched. Is it that so much time and effort have gone into their creation? Or the fact that such a small item has somehow managed to exist after oh so many centuries? How many hands have caressed this ring? What were the factors leading to its crafting? Was it a special gift for a beloved? Imaginings can go on and on as almost three hundred years have passed…will you be part of its history?

A glorious natural purple sapphire 7 mm by 5 mm and estimated to be 1.25 carats glows with an subtle undercurrent as the centerpiece of this 18th century 10k yellow gold ring. Set closed back with the traditional basket weave or sun ray pattern beneath, the sapphire is flanked by four (4) rose cut diamonds set in silver pinched collets as linear engravings accent the sides of the slender shank.

Date: Circa 1750.

Important: This ring should not be in water for an extended period nor exposed to any other liquids, cleaning products or harsh chemicals. If considering as an engagement ring, please keep this in mind. In addition, avoid steam cleaning.
