Story

Imagine owning a piece of jewelry history from more than three hundred years ago. Yes, that is 300 years…Superbly refractive and prismatic, these seven (7) rose cut diamonds are foiled and set closed back in silver pinched collets (as platinum and white gold was not in use until about 1900).

Often seen in the late 17th and early 18th centuries, a configuration of three rose cut diamonds across with two diamonds above and two below create a magnificent ring of 18k yellow gold. Well designed shoulders offer curves and vertical bands of ornament to an otherwise slender gold shank. The diamonds maintain all their original shimmer and brilliance, remarkable for their venerable age.

For a similar ring see color plate 441 on page 315 of “Jewelry of Power Love and Loyalty” by Diana Scarisbrick.

Important: Foiled jewelry should not be exposed to water for any extended period of time nor soaked in any other liquid. In addition, avoid steam cleaning.
