Story

Owner's favorite find! Our recent buying trip uncovered these treasures. As skyscrapers were lighting up the New York skyline in the 1920's and 30's, Art Deco artistry in jewelry was culminating in an essence of style never before witnessed. Pure Art Deco from ground to spire, classic elements such as the use of platinum, diamonds and hints of color with precise geometry and mille grain metal work all speak to that era.

Medium length earrings each boast forty one (41) diamonds bursting with energy and razzle dazzle. From single cuts, baguettes (that had just been invented) and old European cuts, the diamonds combine in high society style with a total estimated weight of 1 carat each. A color range of H-I and a clarity range of VS2-SI2 measure up to one of our best of the best.

Precisely polished cabochons of natural sapphire are shaped into half moons and another two channel set sapphires accent the diamond vertical bands. All in platinum, with ear post fittings they are light on the ear, for your morning java or that elevator ride to the top.

With an antique box stamped, R.W. Meech & Son, Watchmakers & Jewellers, 26 St. Thomas Street, Weymouth (England).

Date: Circa 1925.
