Story

Place this circa 1920 silver-topped 14k yellow gold butterfly brooch upon your person and its exuberance will be contagious. Large in proportion without being overstated, a butterfly spreads its wings. The light as air creature is encrusted with forty-nine (49) diamonds, mostly old European cuts with a few single cuts for a total estimated diamond weight of 1.15 carats. The tips of the two front wings are dotted with eight (8) round faceted natural rubies and the back wings with ten (10) faceted natural sapphires. An additional six (6) sapphires appoint the body and wings with a colorful accent. With antennae set, the delicate winged creature sees the world through a pair of natural ruby eyes cut en cabochon.
