Story

Connoisseurs of vintage and antique rings hold the premise that these pieces far outshine their modern counterparts. More often than not, the craftsmanship is superior and the design more interesting and unique. Although there are magnificent modern rings, all of us at The Three Graces have a warm place in our hearts (and on our fingers) for the pieces with a history behind them.

Here precise detail and fine open work characterize a circa 1925 platinum ring. The octagon within an octagon bezel embraces an old European cut diamond of an estimated .31 carats (I-J color; VS clarity). At each cardinal point a single cut diamond enhances the platinum setting as eight (8) faceted channel set synthetic sapphires – two (2) in each channel – add a dash of bold color to the white-on-white color scheme. Lovely patterning embellishes the slender platinum shank with a traditional wheat motif. In all, this Art Deco ring has a total estimated diamond weight of .35 carats.

Date: Circa 1925.
