Story

Miniature portrait paintings initially emerged in 16th century Europe with an upsurge during the 17th and 18th centuries. Although the majority of the subject matter depicted in this art form was akin to portrait photography of actual individuals, representations of cherubs and classical images also reigned.

It is with delight for The Three Graces to present for the first time ever a jewel portraying the very scarce image of a fairy. Painted in gouache (a type of opaque watercolor which is thickened with a glue-like substance) and watercolor on ivory, the arcane vision is rendered in a delicate palette of subtle colors. Length of red hair cascade down her back as a mischievous look surfaces on her face. Dressed in an ethereal gown, she clutches a bouquet of flowers and ever so softly flutters her wings.

The portrait is covered with glass and set within a heart shape bezel of 18k yellow gold. Around her a framework of thirty-nine (39) rose cut diamonds with an estimated total of .20 carats and set in platinum casts a warm glow only generated by antique diamonds.

**Most Important: This ring should never be in water or any other liquid of any kind, nor exposed to any other cleaning products or harsh chemicals. In addition, avoid steam cleaning.

Date: Circa 1900.
